Alleged serial motorbike thief arrested after reportedly arguing with girlfriend in Pattaya

Pattaya –

A serial motorbike thief has been arrested at a house in Pattaya after he was reportedly arguing with his girlfriend.

The Acting Pattaya City Police Chief Colonel Maykawit Praditphon told the Pattaya News, “Yesterday (October 28th) police were notified that a couple was arguing at a house in a housing estate in Naklua. Police were called by neighbors concerned about the domestic dispute.”

“The suspect, Mr. Ittiphon Jansai, 42, was found with a handmade handgun loaded with bullets inside a car. Additionally, a drug test given to the suspect was positive.” Colonel Maykawit stated.

It was not immediately clear what drug Ittiphon had tested positive for.

“We found after running a background check that Ittiphon is a wanted suspect following an arrest warrant from the Sisaket Provincial Court (Northeast of Thailand) issued in January 2017 for theft by night. He reportedly is the head of a group of serial motorbike thieves who sold stolen motorbikes to border countries.” Colonel Maykawit continued.

“Ittiphon was taken to the Pattaya City Police Station to face legal action and remains in custody at this time. He will face both charges locally for the weapon found and positive drug test and then will be sent to Sisaket to answer for his theft charges.” Colonel Maykawit concluded.
