Ban Bueng –

A 48-year-old male driver has been pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger has sustained serious injuries after a pickup truck crashed into a power pole in the Ban Bueng district this morning, October 28th, 2021.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on the Nong Chark – Nernmok Road in the Nong Chark sub-district.

They arrived the scene to find the driver, Mr. Natee Sayla, 48, lying on the road outside of his heavily damaged pickup truck, having been thrown from the vehicle through his windshield. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

A passenger, Mr. Peerapon Sapsawang, 33, was stuck inside the pickup truck. Rescue workers successfully freed Peerapon from the vehicle and transferred him to a local medical facility for urgent first aid, as he had suffered serious injuries. Peerapon, however, was conscious, calm, and cognizant and spoke to reporters and first responders while being transferred to a medical facility.

Peerapon told the first responders and associated local press, “Natee, the driver of the pickup, lost control at a sharp curve before colliding with a power pole nearby.”

Peerapon remained at a hospital as of this afternoon and Ban Bueng police had no statements when asked if any legal charges could apply in regards to the accident.
