Si Racha –

A 14-year-old female motorbike driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after she crashed her motorbike into a footpath at reportedly high speed in Si Racha over the past weekend.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Saturday (October 23rd) on Sukhumvit Road in Surasak.

The Si Racha first response teams arrived at the scene to find two injured people. The 14-year-old female driver, whose name was withheld due to being a minor, had sustained severe head injuries. She was unconscious and was later pronounced dead at the scene. She reportedly had not been wearing a helmet and did not have a license.

The victim’s female passenger, a 13-year-old girl whose name was also withheld, had sustained only minor injuries.

Mr. Kittipong Sangsuwan, 37, a security guard who witnessed the accident told The Pattaya News, “The young driver crashed into a footpath. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident. She was, however, driving at very high speed.”

Si Racha police are investigating the incident and declined to answer when asked if they would be questioning the parents of the underage driver.
