Air emissions of PM2.5 dust particles have exceeded the standard in many areas across the country, reaching an unhealthy level that could potentially cause long-term health issues, according to the real-time record at around 6:00 AM. today, October 21st.
The IQAir air quality check website has reported real-time Thailand’s most polluted cities ranking this morning with the considerably high PM2.5 concentration. The top 10 areas are:
- Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai province with 216 US AQI
- Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province with 171 US AQI
- Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province with 159 US AQI
- Phra Samut Chedi district, Samut Prakan province with 157 US AQI
- Sampran district, Nakhon Pathom province 156 US AQI
- Pattaya area, Chonburi province with 155 US AQI
- Bang Yai district, Nonthaburi province with 153 US AQI
- Mueng Nakhon Pathom district, Nakhon Pathom province with 152 US AQI
- Mueng Samut Songkhram district, Samut Songkhram province with 152 US AQI
- Saimai district, Bangkok with 150 US AQI
However, the Pollution Control Department (PCD) reported the air quality situation at around the same time that the air quality situation nationwide area is at good to moderate quality.
This comes as many complaints over the haze and air quality have come in from Pattaya residents over the past two days. Rain showers starting this afternoon should help alleviate some of the problem.
Chonburi Officials did not state what had caused the problem locally.
