RECAP: Thailand finds 10,828 daily Covid-19 infections with 77 additional deaths

Thailand discovered a total of 10,828 daily Covid-19 infections with 77 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, October 3rd.

The fatalities were 42 men and 35 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 20. 75 of them were Thai nationals and two were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 35 and 104 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (30), diabetes (24), hyperlipidemia (16), obesity (15), and kidney disease (10). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 9,940 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 770 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 104 were from prisons, and the remaining 14 were imported cases.

A number of 112,251 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,074 patients are in critical condition including 712 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.73 percent of cases that are critical while 23.1 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,211, followed by Yala with 783, Samut Prakan with 760, Chonburi with 643, Rayong with 533, and Narathiwas with 442.

A total number of 288,016 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 89,620 people had received their first shots, 176,074 people had received their second shots, and 22,322 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 11,894 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,637,432 cases with 1,508,167 recoveries and a total of 17,014 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
