Emergency responders were notified of the incident at 5:00 P.M. on Pattaya Beach.

They and The Pattaya news reporters arrived at the scene to find the injured young woman Ms. Nopparat Petchjantuek, 22, lying on the beach.

She had already been pulled up from the water by Pattaya Beach lifeguards who also provided first aid at the scene. She was rushed to a local hospital for a check-up, although was conscious and aware but shaken by the incident.

Ms. Nopparat told emergency responders, “I was traveling alone. I went into the water for a swim by myself before my leg cramped and I could not swim back to shore. I yelled and waved my hands to the orange vested lifeguards nearby for help who rushed into the water and rescued me.”
