Thailand discovered a total of 11,646 daily Covid-19 infections with 107 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, September 30th.
The fatalities were 58 men and 49 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 42. Of that, 106 were Thai nationals and one was a Taiwanese national. The age range was between 9 and 105 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (72), diabetes (48), hyperlipidemia (28), obesity (13), and kidney disease (25). Three of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 10,259 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,249 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 120 were from prisons, and the remaining 18 were imported cases.
A number of 116,075 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,175 patients are in critical condition including 717 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.73 percent of cases that are critical while 22.5 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,630, followed by Samut Prakan with 765, Chonburi with 725, Narathiwas with 617, Songkhla with 566, Yala with 561, and Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 458.
A total number of 628,586 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 203,168 people had received their first shots, 387,229 people had received their second shots, and 38,189 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 10,887 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,603,475 cases with 1,470,643 recoveries and a total of 16,727 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
