Thailand discovered a total of 10,414 daily Covid-19 infections with 122 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA assistant spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan announced today, September 29th.
The fatalities were 59 men and 63 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 38. Of that, 120 were Thai nationals and two were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 26 and 92 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (66), diabetes (42), hyperlipidemia (33), obesity (18), and kidney disease (15). Five of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 9,044 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,182 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 178 were from prisons, and the remaining 10 were imported cases.
A number of 115,423 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,232 patients are in critical condition including 729 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.8 percent of cases that are critical while 22.5 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,579, followed by Chonburi with 772, Samut Prakan with 587, Rayong with 545, Songkhla with 517, Narathiwas with 485, and Yala with 452.
A total number of 726,805 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 249,459 people had received their first shots, 422,848 people had received their second shots, and 54,498 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 11,580 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,591,829 cases with 1,459,786 recoveries and a total of 16,620 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
