RECAP: Thailand finds 12,697 daily Covid-19 infections with 132 additional deaths, 626,896 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 12,697 daily Covid-19 infections with 132 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, September 24th.

The fatalities were 69 men and 63 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 31. Of that, 125 were Thai nationals, two were Myanmar nationals, and one of each was a French, British, Indian, and Lao national. The age range was between 30 and 99 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (59), diabetes (39), hyperlipidemia (32), obesity (14), and kidney disease (15).

Of the new cases, 11,313 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,203 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 170 were from prisons, and the remaining 11 were imported cases.

A number of 127,392 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,377 patients are in critical condition including 743 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.65 percent of cases that are critical while 22 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,239, followed by Chonburi with 897, Samut Prakan with 758, Yala with 675, Rayong with 556, and Songkhla with 555.

A total number of 626,896 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 256,541 people had received their first shots, 369,868 people had received their second shots, and 487 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 13,540 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,537,310 cases with 1,393,302 recoveries and a total of 15,922 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
