Teenage driver dies after crashing his motorbike into Ban Bueng power pole

Ban Bueng –

A young driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after he crashed his motorbike into a power pole in Ban Bueng Sunday night (September 19th).

The Ban Bueng Police were notified of the accident at 8:30 P.M. at a U-Turn on Number 344 Road in Nong Chark.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the body of the young driver Mr. Tananat Chonsiripong, 17. He had broken his neck during the accident.

Tananat’s damaged motorbike was found on the side of the road.

Mr. Jirasak Pimsakun, 35, a witness and resident of a nearby home told local reporters “Mr. Tananat was making a U-turn at high speed before crashing into the power pole.”

At this stage, Ban Bueng police stated that although speed was certainly a factor in the accident there appeared to be signs that the brakes had malfunctioned on Tananat’s motorbike and that the accelerator was not working correctly. The accident remains under active investigation.
