Pattaya has a new Pattaya City Deputy Mayor who has replaced Mr. Ronnakit Eakkasing (pictured above).
First, a video version of this story can be found below:
The Pattaya City Administration has issued a legal announcement and order this afternoon which states, “The Second Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Eakkasing has urgent personal health issues. He has stopped working since his diagnosis for treatment and there is no date set for how long he will be out. His work at Pattaya City is now paused.”
His specific health issue was not disclosed.
“Pattaya City Mayor Sontaya Khunplome has issued the order stating that Mr. Ronnakit is now out of his duty from September 20th, 2021.”
TPN media notes that Mr. Ronnakit was primarily in charge of events and PR for the city and was a constant, regular, and upbeat sight at nearly every single Pattaya event for years, from the largest to the smallest.
“The Pattaya City Mayor has also issued the order to nominate a new Second Deputy Mayor Mr. Wuttisak Rueimkitkan from September 20th, 21.”
Mr. Wuttisak used to work at Pattaya City before in the law office and as a Pattaya City Council member and now as a Pattaya City Deputy Mayor.
Mr Wuttisak told the Pattaya News this afternoon, “I am ready to work and deliver my best performance for the people of Pattaya. I am sure that my previous experiences as part of the Pattaya City administration and council can help people and solve the cities problems especially during the Covid -19 situation.”
It was not immediately clear if Mr. Wuttisak would take over the portfolio of PR and events work from Mr. Ronnakit or partake of different responsibilities and duties. Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume announced yesterday, as we reported here, that the city is planning numerous events over the next several months if given permission by the Thai Covid-19 center in Bangkok. Whoever steps into this role would indeed have their hands full, notes TPN.
