Thailand discovered a total of 13,897 daily Covid-19 infections with 188 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, September 16th.
The fatalities were 107 men and 81 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 40. Of that, 181 were Thai nationals, six were Myanmar nationals, one was a Cambodian national. The age range was between 1 and 93 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (102), diabetes (65), hyperlipidemia (35), obesity (32), and kidney disease (27). Seven of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 11,797 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,697 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 394 were from prisons, and the remaining 9 were imported cases.
A number of 128,728 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,911 patients are in critical condition including 788 on ventilators. This is roughly 3 percent of cases that are critical while 20.1 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,886, followed by Samut Prakan with 1,455, Chonburi with 973, Songkhla with 470, Rayong with 445, and Ratchaburi with 389.
A total number of 830,413 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 316,107 people had received their first shots, 512,728 people had received their second shots, and 1,578 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 13,527 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,434,237 cases with 1,290,556 recoveries and a total of 14,953 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
