RECAP: Thailand finds 13,798 daily Covid-19 infections with 144 additional deaths, 694,076 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 13,798 daily Covid-19 infections with 144 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced today, September 15th.

The fatalities were 77 men and 67 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 43. Of that, 144 were Thai nationals, three were Myanmar nationals, two were Cambodian nationals, and one was a British national. The age range was between 22 and 96 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (84), diabetes (53), hyperlipidemia (37), obesity (23), and kidney disease (19). Six of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 12,117 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,208 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 451 were from prisons, and the remaining 22 were imported cases.

A number of 128,546 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 3,994 patients are in critical condition including 806 on ventilators. This is roughly 3.1 percent of cases that are critical while 20.1 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,772, followed by Samut Prakan with 1,351, Chonburi with 835, Rayong with 680, Ratchaburi with 487, and Samut Sakhon with 404.

A total number of 694,076 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 228,352 people had received their first shots, 464,749 people had received their second shots, and 975 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 14,133 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,420,340 cases with 1,277,029 recoveries and a total of 14,765 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
