Thailand discovered a total of 16,031 daily Covid-19 infections with 220 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today, September 9th.
The fatalities were 108 men and 112 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 43. Of that, 214 were Thai nationals, four were Myanmar nationals, one was an American national, and two of them were unidentified. The age range was between 19 and 102 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (133), diabetes (86), hyperlipidemia (55), kidney disease (30), and obesity (20). Six of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 12,436 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 2,955 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 631 were from prisons, and the remaining 9 were imported cases.
A number of 143,038 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 4,363 patients are in critical condition including 940 on ventilators. This is roughly 3.05 percent of cases that are critical while 21.5 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,736, followed by Chonburi with 1,594, Samut Prakan with 1,197, Samut Sakhon with 643, Rayong with 549, and Ratchaburi with 466.
A total number of 713,454 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 338,105 people had received their first shots, 372,592 people had received their second shots, and 2,757 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 15,417 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,338,550 cases with 1,181,781 recoveries and a total of 13,731 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
