A 46-year-old driver became stuck inside the cab of their vehicle after two trailer trucks collided in the Mueang Chonburi district yesterday.
The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the accident yesterday (September 6th) on the Chonburi – Ban Bueng Road in the Nong Ree sub-district.
Rescue workers arrived at the scene to find two damaged trailer trucks on the road.
Inside the cab first responders found the driver, Mr. Duan Boonchamni, 46, who was stuck. Rescue workers used a hydraulic cutter to free him.
Duan told Mueang Chonburi police, “There was a truck in front of me that immediately stopped and I was unable to slow down before the crash.” He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.
Nearby, first responders found another damaged trailer truck. The driver, Mr. Jamrong Thongwiset, 46, who was not injured, told Mueang Chonburi police, “There was a sedan in front of me immediately stopping so I had to stop too.”
There was no sign of the sedan at the scene of the accident.
Mueang Chonburi police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the accident and determine potential liability. CCTV is expected to be reviewed as well.
