This afternoon (September 1st) two suspects who were named to the press as Mr. Eakkarin Toahard, 29, and his younger brother Mr. Sarut Toahard, 25, have surrendered themselves to the Borwin Police.

Mr. Eakkarin admitted to Borwin Police, “I became jealous after I saw a chat on my girlfriend’s mobile phone in an online group chat from her workplace.”

“I fell into an angry rage that other men were talking to her and on impulse decided to attack her co-worker who was chatting with her in the group chat. My brother and I are very sorry for what we have done.” Eakkarin stated, looking for forgiveness from the victim and asking for the charges to be dropped.

However, the injured victim, Mr. Songchaiphon Donchai, 23, from Chiang Rai, stated that he is still planning to take legal action and press further charges against the suspects. He suffered multiple injuries from the incident and had to be taken to a hospital.

Following the request from Songchaiphon to press charges, police have filed assault charges against the suspects who remained in custody as of press time waiting for an upcoming court first appearance.
