RECAP: Thailand finds 15,972 daily Covid-19 infections with 256 additional deaths, 275,188 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 15,972 daily Covid-19 infections with 256 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesman Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced today, August 30th.

The fatalities were 137 men and 119 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 79. Of that, 240 were Thai nationals, 14 were Myanmar nationals, and one was a British national. One was unidentified. The age range was between 16 and 98 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, and obesity. Five of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 14,137 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,544 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 280 were from prisons, and the remaining 11 were imported cases.

A number of 176,137 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 5,058 patients are in critical condition including 1,062 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.87 percent of cases that are critical while 20.9 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,771, followed by Samut Prakan with 1,055, Samut Sakhon with 966, Ratchaburi with 779, Chonburi with 747, and Rayong with 518.

A total number of 275,188 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 211,293 people had received their first shots, 62,463 people had received their second shots, and 2,888 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 17,281 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,190,063 cases with 1,002,527 recoveries and a total of 11,399 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
