Thai Meteorological Department forecasts monsoon rain and isolated heavy rains all over Thailand until end of August

Thailand’s Meteorological Department today, August 26th, warned of monsoon rain and isolated heavy rains all over Thailand until the end of August. Flash floods are also likely in the risky areas.

In general, during August 25th – the 29th, the monsoon trough will move down across the North, the Central, and the Northeast of Thailand while the southwest monsoon will strengthen, causing more rains with isolated heavy to very heavy rain are likely over the country. People in the risky areas should beware of the severe conditions, including floods and flash floods.

The southwest monsoon that prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will weaken from the 30th – the 31st, resulting in less rain across the country. Meanwhile, the wind and waves over the Andaman Sea will be likely 1 – 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers throughout the period.

In northern Thailand, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains are forecast during the 25th – the 29th while scattered thundershowers are expected during the 30th – the 31st, with a minimum temperature of 22-25°C and a maximum temperature of 30-34°C.

In northeastern Thailand, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers are forecast throughout the period while isolated heavy rains are expected during the 25th – the 29th, with a minimum temperature of 22-25°C. and a maximum temperature of 31-35°C.

In central Thailand, including Bangkok and the Metropolitan area, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains are expected during the 25th – the 29th while isolated to scattered thundershowers are forecast during the 30th – the 31st.

In eastern Thailand, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are expected until Sunday, August 29th, and scattered thundershowers are from the 30th to the 31st. Waves are forecast to reach up to about 1 meter and 1- 2 meters in thundershowers.

In southern Thailand, scattered thundershowers are expected on the east coast throughout the period with isolated heavy rains until Friday the 27th. Meanwhile, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are forecast on the west coast throughout the period. Waves are forecast to be about 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

During the 26th – the 29th, people over the risk areas in the North, the Northeast, the East, the Central, and the South should beware of the severe conditions. All ships should proceed with caution, especially over thundershower areas.
