Phuket Sandbox’s “7+7” new travel plan officially approved, effective Monday onwards

Phuket –

The CCSA this afternoon, August 16th, has approved Phuket Sandbox’s “7+7” travel plan, allowing tourists under the Phuket Sandbox to stay in Phuket for seven days and then visit another pilot destination for at least seven days.

The pilot destinations are Surat Thani (Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, and Ko Tao), Krabi (Ko Phi Phi, Ko Ngai, and Railay Beach), and Phang Nga (Khao Lak and Ko Yao). The plan is effective this Monday, August 16th, onwards.

The plan, therefore, would reduce the previously existing requirement, stating that tourists must stay in Phuket for 14 days before moving to another destination.

All pilot destinations must follow necessary preventive rules and regulations under the same standard as those in the Phuket Sandbox program to ensure health and safety among tourists and local residents and to curb the spread of Covid-19 in these areas.
