RECAP: Thailand finds 21,882 daily Covid-19 infections with 209 additional deaths, 284,378 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in the past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 21,882 daily Covid-19 infections with 209 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported today, August 15th.

The fatalities were 117 men and 92 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 83. Of that, 203 were Thai nationals and six were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 19 and 95 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, and obesity. Eight of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 18,499 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 3,132 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 245 were from prisons, and the remaining six were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 4,215, followed by Samut Sakhon with 1,851, Samut Prakan with 1,523, Chonburi with 1,457, Nonthaburi with 642, and Saraburi with 555.

A total number of 284,378 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 183,092 people had received their first shots, 40,104 people had received their second shots, and 61,182 people had received their third shots.

As of today, 21,106 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 907,157 cases with 688,662 recoveries and a total of 7,552 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
