Thailand discovered a total of 19,843 daily Covid-19 infections with 235 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, August 10th.
The fatalities were 122 men and 113 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 111. Of that, 223 were Thai nationals and two were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 22 and 100 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, and obesity. Seven of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 14,832 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 4,592 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 398 were from prisons, and the remaining 21 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 4,226, followed by Samut Sakhon with 1,639, Samut Prakan with 1,006, Chonburi with 1,005, Nonthaburi with 959, and Pathum Thani with 528.
A total number of 501,330 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 350,389 people had received their first shots, 104,484 people had received their second shots, and 46,457 people had received their third shots.
As of today, 22,806 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 795,951 cases with 578,140 recoveries and a total of 6,588 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
