Woman seriously injured after being allegedly attacked by her intoxicated husband in the Pattaya area

A 53-year-old Pattaya area woman has sustained serious injuries after allegedly being physically assaulted by her reportedly intoxicated husband in Banglamung.

The Nongprue Police was notified of the incident at 10:20 P.M. just before the past weekend (August 5th) in Marb Song Nongyai.

They and The Pattaya News reporters arrived at the scene to find the injured party, Mrs. Yupa Mueantap, 53, who was in tears and emotional. She had sustained serious head injuries and was taken to a local medical facility for immediate assistance.

Her daughter, whose name was not given by law enforcement, told Nongprue police the suspect is her mother’s new husband, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated and had been involved in a verbal argument that escalated to a physical confrontation. According to Yupa’s daughter, the suspect hit Mrs. Mueantap several times. The exact nature of the argument was not made clear to reporters.

The husband, whose name was also not provided by police, was taken to the Nongprue Police Station to face legal action. He reportedly remained in custody over the weekend and faces a court appearance tomorrow morning, August 9th, 2021. He faces several charges, including domestic assault. Nongprue police confirmed the suspect was reportedly heavily intoxicated during the incident.

Mrs. Mueantap is expected to recover from her injuries after treatment over the weekend at a local hospital.
