Thailand discovered a total of 17,345 daily Covid-19 infections with 117 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced today, July 30th.
The fatalities were 62 men and 55 women from Bangkok (55), Samut Prakan (9), Samut Sakhon (8), Narathiswas (7), Pathum Thani (6), Nakhon Pathom (4), Kalasin (2), Sukothai (2), Nakhon Sawan (2), Tak (2), Songkhla (1), Trang (1), Ranong (1), Roi Et (1), Nakhon Panom (1), Udon Thani (1), Sakhon Nakhon (1), Kampangpetch (1), Phitsanulok (1), Chachoengsao (1), Chonburi (1), Trat (1), Prachuap Khiri Khan (1), Prachinburi (1), Saraburi (1), and Ayutthaya (1). The age range was between 33 and 92 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, heart disease, obesity, stroke, and lung disease. Eight of the fatalities reportedly did not have any health conditions.
Of the new cases, 12,823 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 3,833 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 681 were from prisons, and the remaining 8 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,231, followed by Samut Prakan with 1,386, Samut Sakhon with 1,186, Chonburi with 914, Nonthaburi with 587, and Chachoengsao with 479.
A total number of 420,148 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 366,663 people had received their first shot and 53,485 people had received their second shots.
As of today, 10,678 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 578,375 cases with 381,170 recoveries and a total of 4,679 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
