Motorbike driver dies in Pattaya after three-vehicle accident

Banglamung –

A thirty-seven-year-old male driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after he crashed his motorbike into a cement truck before being tragically run over by a pickup truck driver in the Pattaya area earlier this week.

The Banglamung Police were notified of the accident at 10:00 P.M. on Motorway Number 7 in Nong Plalai on Sunday, July 25th, 2021.

Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the damaged cement truck, a pickup truck, and the motorbike on the road. Under the pickup truck, first responders found the body of Mr. Boonchai Panklan, 37.

The cement truck driver, Mr. Pichet Jachatree, 36, told Banglamung police, “The motorbike driver, who had no running lights,  crashed into the back of my vehicle while I was driving in light rain. The motorbike driver was then tragically run over by a passing pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver, Mr. Somchai Jaroensuk, 36, told Banglamung police, “It was dark and raining when the motorbike driver fell into the road following his accident. I had no way to stop my vehicle in time.”

Banglamung police are investigating CCTV nearby to confirm the statements of the two drivers involved in the incident and determine if they will move forward with any potential legal charges.
