Bangkok –

The Ministry of Public Health has proposed to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to consider the reopening of restaurants in department stores for online delivery purposes under strict preventive measures.

Deputy government spokeswoman Traisulee Traisoranakul said on Monday, July 26th, that the Public Health Ministry had come up with measures for reopening restaurants in shopping malls for delivery in the dark-red zone provinces, which includes Chonburi. They will be presented to the CCSA for further consideration in an upcoming meeting.

It’s important to note this is currently only a proposal.

The measures, according to the spokesperson, include the D-M-H-T-T measures (Distancing, Mask Wearing, Hand Washing, Testing, Thai Chana) application for all employees. They must come to work in a sealed route and must not socialize at work or join as a group to share meals or any activities. Restaurants are not allowed to open the storefront in any way. In case any employees had reported respiratory symptoms or being in contact with an infected person, they have to stop working immediately.

Department stores must set up a food pick-up point emphasizing the social distance measures. Everyone must wear a mask and not gather in a group and drivers must not socialize with each other. The waiting area must be well ventilated, not crowded, and implement the D-M-H-T-T measures.

Food delivery staff must also conduct similar measures. In case any employees had reported respiratory symptoms or being in contact with an infected person, they have to stop working immediately.

The date for the CCSA consideration, TPN Media noted, has not been mentioned by the spokesperson, nor the implementation date.
