RECAP: Thailand finds a total of 15,376 daily Covid-19 infections with 87 additional deaths

Thailand discovered a total of 15,376 daily Covid-19 infections with 87 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, marking another new high of daily infections, CCSA assistant spokesperson reported today, July 26th.

The fatalities were 52 men and 35 women from Bangkok (40), Pathum Thani (6), Nakhon Pathom (6), Pattani (6), Samut Sakhon (2), Krabi (2), Nakhon Ratchasima (2), Ubon Ratchathani (2), Chachoengsao (2), Trat (2), Tak (2), Suphan Buri (2), Nonthaburi (1), Samut Prakan (1), Songkhla (1), Nakhon Si Thammarat (1), Kalasin (1), Udon Thani (1), Chonburi (1), Rayong (1), Sa Kaeo (1), Kampangpetch (1), Sukothai (1), Phetchaburi (1), and Ayutthaya (1). The age range was between 28 and 96 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, obesity, stroke, lung disease, and heart disease. Three of the fatalities were bedridden patients while four others did not reportedly have any health conditions.

Of the new cases, 11,064 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 3,257 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 1,041 were from prisons, and the remaining 14 were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,573, followed by Samut Sakhon with 1,074, Samut Prakan with 970, Chonburi with 867, Nonthaburi with 719, and Rayong with 411.

A total number of 90,934 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 80,943 people had received their first shot and 9,991 people had received their second shots.

As of today, 6,782 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 512,678 cases with 341,475 recoveries and a total of 4,146 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
