Thailand reported 13,593 new domestic cases with 655 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 12 imported cases, marking a total of 14,260 daily infections, with 119 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.
This makes a total of 453,104 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.
Additionally, 300,363 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 7,637 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year, however.
Among 13,593 local new domestic cases, excluding the cases in the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 2,745, Samut Sakorn with 1,054, Samut Prakan with 908, Nonthaburi with 663, and Chonburi with 662.
The fatalities were 66 men and 53 women (114 Thais, 2 Myanmars, 1 Bangladesh, 1 Indonesian, and 1 Malaysian) aged between 30-94.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high levels of fats in the blood, kidney disease, bedridden, strokes, lung disease, and bedridden.
One of them was 32 weeks pregnant. Seven of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.
A total of 15,741,818 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Thailand have been given so far with 304,244 first doses given yesterday and 48,635 second doses.
