Thailand discovered a total of 13,655 daily Covid-19 infections with 87 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, marking a new high of daily infections, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, July 22nd.
The fatalities were 40 men and 47 women from Bangkok (44), Pathum Thani (6), Nakhon Sawan (5), Samut Sakhon (4), Pattani (4), Nakhon Pathom (3), Samut Prakan (3), Songkhla (3), Ratchaburi (3), Chiang Mai (2), Samut Songkram (2), Surin (2), Chiang Rai (1), Phitsanulok (1), Ayutthaya (1), Singburi (1), Udon Thani (1), and Ubon Thani (1). The age range was between 24 and 93 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, obesity, heart disease, lung disease, and stroke. Nine of the fatalities reportedly refused to reveal their health conditions.
Of the new cases, 9,254 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 3,845 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 545 were from prisons, and the remaining 11 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,893, followed by Samut Sakhon with 965, Samut Prakan with 895, Chonburi with 620, Nonthaburi with 416, and Pathum Thani with 365.
A total number of 279,576 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 246,287 people had received their first shot and 33,289 people had received their second shots.
As of today, 7,921 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 453,132 cases with 312,377 recoveries and a total of 3,697 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
