Thai MotoGP 2021 event cancelled, following Covid-19 pandemic in Thailand

Thailand –

Dorna Sports this afternoon, July 21st, has released the cancellation announcement of Thai MotoGP 2021, which was scheduled to take place at Chang International Circuit in Buriram province on October 15th-17th, 2021.

According to their statement, the cancellation of the event was due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and its preventive restrictions in Thailand.

The organizers are currently considering any updates regarding a possible substitute, which will be available soon.

The FIM MotoGP™ World Championship is hopefully looking forward to eventually returning to race in Buriram and in Thailand next year.

This is the second year in a row the event, which normally brings tens of thousands of visitors and millions of baht in revenue to Buriram, has been canceled, a devastating action for the economy.
