The Thai Meteorological Department today, July 15th, reported 7-day weather forecasts with widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Thailand from July 15th to the 21st.
In general, during July 15th – 16th, a southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, resulting in likely isolated heavy rain in the Northeast, the Central, the East, and the South of Thailand.
During the 17th – the 21st, the southwest monsoon will strengthen, causing more rain and isolated heavy rain over upper Thailand. Meanwhile, the wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will be stronger, reaching about 2 meters in the Andaman Sea and above 3 meters during thundershowers.
In northern Thailand, isolated to scattered thundershowers are expected during the 15th – the 16th while scattered thundershowers are forecast for the 17th – the 21st, with a minimum temperature of 23°C and a maximum temperature of 36°C.
In northeastern Thailand, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers as well as isolated heavy rain are forecast throughout the period, with a minimum temperature of 23°C and a maximum temperature of 35°C.
In central provinces, scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain are expected during the 15th – the 16th while only scattered thundershowers are forecast for the 17th – the 21st. For the Bangkok Metropolitan area, scattered thundershowers and isolated to scattered thundershowers are likely to occur throughout the period.
In eastern Thailand, which includes Chonburi and Pattaya, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain are expected in the next 7 days. During the 15th – the 16th, waves are forecast to reach up to about 1 meter and 1-2 meters during thundershowers. During the 17 – 21 of July, waves are forecast to about 1-2 meters and about 2 meters in thundershowers.
In southern provinces, scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain are expected throughout the next week on both the east and west coast of Thailand. Waves are forecast to about 1-2 meters and 2 meters during thundershowers on the east coast while about 1-2 meters and 2 to above 3 meters during thundershowers are predicted on the west coast.
People in most areas of Thailand should beware of the severe conditions of abundant rainfall and possible flash floods between July 14 to the 19th.
