Chonburi governor orders temporary closure of a construction worker camp in Si Racha

The Chonburi Governor, Phakkhrathon Thianchai, ordered the temporary closure of a construction workers camp which takes effect today July 9th, 2021, to control the spread of Covid-19.

The order was posted by the Chonburi Public Relation office this morning (July 9th). The order concludes, “Many Covid -19 confirmed cases are being found at the construction worker camp owned by SSS & P Engineering Supply Co. Ltd.’ which is located in Si Racha.”

“In order to control the spread of the virus, the Chonburi communicable disease committee has ordered the follows:

  1. Nobody is allowed to leave the camp and nobody may enter without permission from a Chonburi Public Health Official except the moving of staffers, workers, or relevant people from the workers camp to their main assigned construction site and only with strict Covid-19 controls for essential reasons. (Essentially, this part of the order allows workers to be escorted to their site for work that is critical, for instance, something that could have engineering or stability issues, but otherwise, the site is closed-editor)
  2. No movement of staffers, workers and relevant people is allowed to other camps or construction sites.
  3. While working at the construction site, staffers and workers are not allowed to work together or be in close contact with workers from other companies. Eating and socializing together are forbidden.
  4. Any necessary reasons to enter or exit the worker camp must have permission from a Chonburi Public Health Official
  5. Owners and operators must strictly follow the orders listed above.

The order has been issued yesterday (July 8th) but takes place from today (July 9th) until August 5th.
