Si Racha –

A young driver has escaped any injuries after he crashed his pickup truck into a power pole in Si Racha on Tuesday this week.

The Borwin Police were notified of the accident Tuesday night (June 29th) on the Marb Eiang – Laem Chabang Road in Borwin.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a brown pickup truck in a ditch just off the road. The driver, who was not injured, Mr. Apinan Wiset, 19, was patiently waiting for Borwin police at the scene.

A power pole nearby had been pulled down from the crash and was nearly completely blocking the road. This took about an hour to clear out from the area.

Apinan told police that another truck reportedly pulled out in front of him without warning, causing him to try to avoid a collision but crashing into the power pole and then a ditch instead. Apinan claimed the other vehicle immediately sped off without checking on him.

The cost of damages from the power pole falling is estimated by the Borwin highway office to be around 100,000 baht. Borwin police did not state immediately if they would charge Apinan for the damage or investigate the claims of another truck causing the accident.
