Bangkok –
The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) is considering accepting the Public Health Ministry’s proposal for the green group, or those least suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 to recover at home in order to solve the insufficient hospital bed problems in Bangkok.
CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin stated today, June 28th, that the idea of having a green group of patients to treat Covid-19 symptoms at home was proposed during the EOC meeting by the Public Health Ministry. This group would be those primarily asymptomatic or very mild.
More details of the proposal are now being planned. However, it was initially stated that the patients may have to stay at the hospital for up to 10 days before they can treat the mild symptoms at home for the remaining 4 days. Even this measure would help free up an estimated 1 out of 3 available hospital beds.
The spokesperson said: “What is crucial is we have to ensure that we are able to follow up and monitor the patients and their health when they are at home for even four days.”
“Meanwhile, for the yellow and red groups of patients (those with moderate to serious symptoms), the Ministry of Public Health along with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration would collaboratively establish an ICU field hospital as soon as possible. I would like to inform you that we are working on every possible way to help everyone.”
