Thailand discovered a total of 5,406 daily Covid-19 infections with 22 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced this morning, June 27th.
The fatalities were 13 men and 9 women from Bangkok (10), Samut Prakan (3), Nakhon Ratchasima (1), Nakhon Si Thammarat (1), Phetchaburi (1), Rayong (1), Pathum Thani (1), Roi Et (1), Chaiyaphom (1), Songkhla (1), and Surat Thani (1). The age range was between 31 and 91 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, lung disease, heart disease, and immunodeficiency syndrome. One of the fatalities was during her pregnancy and the other one did not reportedly have any health conditions.
Of the new cases, 3,757 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 1,622 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, nine were from prisons, and the remaining 18 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,678, followed by Tak with 453 (driven by a clothing factory in the Mae Sot district), Samut Prakan with 395, Chonburi with 390 (driven by a Si Racha worker camp), Samut Sakhon with 295, and Songkhla with 275.
A total number of 93,577 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 12,764 people had received their first shot with a Sinovac vaccine, 48,392 people had their first shot with AstraZeneca, and the other 2,074 with Sinopharm, marking a total of 63,230 people who received the first doses.
30,347 people had their second shots with a Sinovac vaccine, the second dose was given to 55 people with AstraZeneca and one person with Sinopharm, marking a total of 30,347 people.
As of today, 3,343 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 249,853 cases with 202,271 recoveries and a total of 1,934 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
