Chonburi –
Seven people including elderly residents and children have escaped from a house fire in the Pan Thong district during the early morning hours of Friday, June 25th, 2021.
The Pan Thong Police were notified of the fire from anxious nearby residents at a house located at the back of a Buddhist temple in Bang Nang just after midnight.
Firefighters with multiple fire engines arrived at the scene to find that the fire was heavily ablaze at the half cement and half wood residential home, sending billowing smoke into the night sky and attracting a crowd of worried neighbors, monks, and villagers.
It took about one hour for firefighters to control the fire. The house was totally destroyed as a result of the blaze, but luckily there were no injuries or fatalities.
Ms. Phonpan Sinsap, 35, a resident of the home, told The Pattaya News, “We were sleeping in the house. I heard someone (a family member) shout that the house was on fire. I smelled something burning and shouted for my family to escape. There were seven of us in total living in this home. We were not injured but the cost of the damages has yet to be estimated.”
Police are continuing their investigation to find the cause of the fire and assistance has been given to the family to find them temporary housing and support.
