Bangkok, Thailand-
Lt. General Lertrit Wechsawan, a 74-year-old Thai senator, has tested positive for Covid-19 according to his own statements. This follows major meetings held at the Thai Parliament this week attended by the majority of the MP’S and senators around government referendum voting.

The referendum law meetings also drew various protests, which you can read about by clicking here.
The senator also stated he had minimal contact with others at the Parliament hearings overall, although revealed in his timelines he had lunch with Mr. Piyaphan Nimmanhaemin and Gen. Pairote Panichsamai. He left the meetings early each day of the meetings as he did not feel well, having symptoms of dizziness, and later learned his wife tested positive for Covid-19 after also not feeling well.
Following this, the senator went to Phramongkut Hospital to get tested himself and the result came back positive the next day. The senator is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Those who were in close contact with the senator have been asked to conduct a Covid-19 test as well as self-isolate by the hospital and the Department of Public Health.
