Chonburi Covid -19 cases rise up to 320, most from new cluster at construction worker camps in Banglamung with two new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 320 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 with two new death today, June 26th.

This makes a total of 7,527 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 2,276 still in medical care, and with a total of 42 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.

Additionally, 5,209 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 40 people were released yesterday.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 55, Si Racha 69, Banglamung 113, Panat Nikhom 6, Sattahip 57, Ban Bueng 7, Pan Thong 7, Ko Chan 1 and five new cases transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Two migrant workers construction camps in Banglamung, 85 cases
  2. Cluster at Sattahip Morning Market, 52 cases
  3. Migrant community dormitory in Khao Kansong, Si Racha, 29 cases
  4. Cluster at New Market Mueang Chonburi, 5 cases
  5. Cluster at Soi Ratchaprasit migrant worker community in Mueang Chonburi, 5 cases
  6. Migrant worker camp in Si Racha, 2 cases
  7. A market in Ban Bueang, 1 case
  8. Active case finding at an unnamed business in Mueang Chonburi 7 cases
  9. Contacts from a previously confirmed case at New Market, 13 cases
  10. Contacts from a previously confirmed case (from a party), 4 cases
  11. Confirmed case transferred from Chachoengsao, 1 case
  12. Overall close contacts of previously confirmed patients:
  • 46 family members
  • 13 co-workers
  1. Close contacts of previously confirmed patients (Which is under investigation), 41 cases
  2. Cases that are under investigation in general, 16 cases

A total of 429 contact searches were received today, 2,175 initial proactive searches, and more proactive search reports are pending.

The Chonburi Governor, Phakkhrathon Thianchai, ordered the closure of two construction workers camps yesterday, June 25th, 2021, to control the spread of Covid-19.
