The Rayong Public Health Office today (June 24th) has announced 92 new confirmed cases of Covid-19.
This makes a total of 1,327 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of Covid-19, since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.
Of those 92 new cases, 6 were found through contact tracing and in hospitals, and 86 were found through active case-finding at a mushroom farm in Klang District.
Of those 1,327, 1,119 are Thais while 208 are foreigners/migrant workers.
Additionally, 1,046 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered. 272 still in medical care with a total of nine deaths were reported since this current wave began.
The Rayong Governor, Mr. Channa Eiamsang, told local media today, “There are in total 159 workers at the mushroom farm in question which are Thais, Cambodians, and Myanmar nationals.”
“At least 105 have tested positive with Covid -19 so far in total, with some reported in prior days.” The Governor added.
“We have ordered to set up a field hospital at the mushroom farm as well as preparing two more quarantine places.” The Governor explained.
“We have assigned public health officials to rush on screening tests of people living near the mushroom farm in order to control the spread of the disease over a wide area.” The Governor stated.
