According to the initial investigation, the alleged shooter was an ex-conscript who has been discharged from the military since 2019 and has been experiencing some mental difficulties and disorders.

The suspect was also identified by his family members who stated that the suspect had also shot and killed a convenience store employee in the Bangkok area before committing the shooting incident in Pathum Thani.  Motives in both homicides have not yet been revealed.

His white pick-up truck and its license plate were tracked and discovered to have traveled to the Southern Ranong area by highway police officers at around 10:00 AM. His vehicle was later found at a house, reportedly to be his relative’s, in the Muaeng Ranong district half an hour later.
