Si Racha –

A driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after his trailer truck overturned in Si Racha yesterday (June 18th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 2:50 P.M. on Borwin – Marp Pu Road at Surasak Intersection in the Surasak sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find the overturned trailer truck entwined with 30 meters of damaged guardrail.

The driver, Mr. Suwat Pongwirat, 39, from Chanthaburi, was found dead inside the cab, believed to have been killed upon the impact of the accident. His body was removed from the truck by first responders.

At this stage, Si Racha police believed that the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel at a curve or might have lost control at high speed. Local residents who stopped to view the incident told reporters from the associated Thai press that there were many accidents in this area.

There were no direct witnesses to the accident, according to Si Racha Police.
