RECAP: Thailand reports a total of 3,058 daily Covid-19 infections with 22 additional deaths, 215,885 new vaccinated people reported nationwide in past 24 hours

Thailand discovered a total of 3,058 daily Covid-19 infections with 22 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced this morning, June 18th.

The fatalities were 11 men and 11 women from Bangkok (16), Nakhon Pathom (1), Ayutthaya (1), Chachoengsao (1), Song Khla (1), Phrae (1), and Phetchabun (1). The age range was between 32 and 95 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, heart disease, kidney disease, strokes, lung disease, cancer, and SLE. One of the fatalities did not reportedly have any health conditions.

Of the new cases, 2,044 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 536 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 459 were from prisons, and the remaining 19 were imported cases.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 867, followed by Samut Prakan with 239, Samut Sakhon with 193, Song Khla with 152, Chonburi with 142, and Nonthaburi with 105.

A total number of 215,885 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 54,005 people had received their first shot with a Sinovac vaccine and 83,771 people had their first shot with AstraZeneca, marking a total of 137,776 people who received the first doses.

75,018 people had their second shots with a Sinovac vaccine and the second dose was given to 3,091 people with AstraZeneca, marking a total of 78,109 people.

As of today, 4,094 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 210,782 cases with 176,410 recoveries and a total of 1,577 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration this morning also reported an additional amount of 350,000-420,000 shots of AstraZeneca vaccine to be inoculated at 126 hospitals in the capital and 25 vaccination centers for those who were recently postponed for vaccination in registration applications, including “Mhor Prompt”, “Thai Ruam Jai”, and “Safe Bangkok”.
