Pattaya –

A group of local teenagers, many of who are part of Pattaya area motorbike clubs, helped the needy in Soi Kor Pai yesterday (June 15th).

A thousand sets of meals, dried food, eggs, and bottles of water were handed out to the needy in Pattaya in the afternoon.

Many people in Pattaya are unemployed after many businesses have been closed due to Covid-19 restrictions and measures. The Covid -19 pandemic has also affected the sales at local markets and the community in Soi Korpai. Even many people who have jobs have been affected by the loss of revenue due to the lack of domestic and foreign tourism and that many former customers have lost their jobs.

Pattaya City Law Enforcement officers assisted in handing out free meals to the needy with hygienic measurements such as temperature checks and hand sanitizer.

The group of teenagers, who didn’t want to be named individually, told The Pattaya News many people are suffering in Pattaya with no food to eat and that the homeless situation is getting worse the longer Covid-19 restrictions continue to keep closed the tourism and entertainment industry, which is the main economic driver of Pattaya.

The group, many of who are part of local motorbike clubs, wanted to show that the youth and teens of Pattaya also have many good people who want to help their community and that not everyone who loved motorbikes and racing were bad people. They also wanted to stress that even though they were members of varied clubs in the area they all came together to support their home of Pattaya and those most in need.
