First, the video version of this story is below:

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 11:00 P.M. on Number 331 Road in Huayyai.

They and The Pattaya News reporters arrived at the scene to find the sedan in a ditch that was three meters deep and 30 meters away from the road.

The injured driver, Ms. Daorueng Jongruamklang, 33, was suffering from chest pains following the accident.  She was taken to a local hospital for an X-ray and examination for potential internal injuries.

Her boyfriend, Mr. Mai Sanekot, 37, told The Pattaya News reporters, “My girlfriend was going home from work at a factory.”

“She was tired after a long shift and fell asleep at the wheel. The area she was driving in was too dark and had no lights, being a fairly rural area. After the accident she called me to the scene along with the first responders.” Mai stated to the press.

The car was later pulled up from the ditch with the assistance of a local towing company while Ms. Daorueng remains at a local medical facility as of press time under evaluation.
