Thailand reported a total of 2,804 daily Covid-19 infections with 18 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported this morning, June 13th.
The fatalities were 7 men and 11 women from Bangkok (12), Chonburi (2), Pathum Thani (1), Songkhla (1), Suphan Buri (1), and Phuket (1). The age range was between 47 and 86 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, liver disease, obesity, cancer, and heart disease. Two of the fatalities refused to report health conditions.
Of the new cases, 1,567 were found in hospitals and medical services, 767 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 409 were from prisons, and the remaining 61 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 924, followed by Samut Prakan with 217, Ayutthaya with 206, Samut Sakhon with 139, Nonthaburi with 122, Songkhla with 89, and Pathum Thani with 77. Chonburi reported 32 new and confirmed domestic infections this morning.
A total number of 108,204 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 66,037 people had received their first shot while the other 42,167 people had their second shot.
As of today, 4,143 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 195,909 cases with 154,414 recoveries and a total of 1,449 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
