RECAP: Thailand announces 3,277 new cases of Covid-19 and 29 additional deaths

Thailand reported 2,356 new domestic cases with 892 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 29 imported cases, marking a total of 3,277 daily infections, with 29 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

This makes a total of 164,242 cases of Covid-19 since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.

Additionally, 122,845 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 5,273 people were released yesterday. The chart below shows total cases and recoveries since the original outbreak last year, however.

Among the local 2,356 new domestic cases, excluding the cases at the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces was discovered in Bangkok with 858, Samut Sakorn with 188, Samut Prakan with 313, Nonthaburi with 291 and Pathum Thani with 81.

The fatalities were 17 men and 12 women aged between 30 to 92 from Bangkok (17), Samut Prakan (3), Nontaburi (3), Pathum Thani (1), Chainat (1), Nakhon Sawan (1), Prachuap Kirikan (1), Phuket (1) and Udon Thani (1)

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high levels of fats in the blood, kidney disease, strokes, lung disease, cancers, and obesity.

Six of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.

219,214 people got their first vaccination shot yesterday with 88,771 getting their second, making a total of 5,975,070.
