Bicycle rider seriously injured after getting hit by sedan in Sattahip

A bicycle rider has sustained serious injuries after a sedan slammed into the back of his bicycle yesterday morning (June 9th) in Sattahip. The sedan driver is facing charges of reckless driving causing serious injuries.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 8:30 A.M. in front of the PTT gas station in Baan Amphoe, Na Jomtien.

The damaged sedan, which had its front windshield broken, was found on the road. A damaged bicycle was found stuck in front of the car.

The bicycle rider, Mr. Boonsurb Jantarangsi, 55, who was unconscious, had sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The sedan driver, Ms. Chawaphon Surapassadee, 42, told The Pattaya News “I didn’t see the bicycle in front of me.”

A spokesman from the Na Jomtien Police told The Pattaya News at this stage the sedan driver is facing charges of reckless driving causing serious injuries.
