Thailand discovered a total of 2,662 daily Covid-19 infections with 28 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Visanuyothin announced this morning, June 8th.
Of the new cases, 1,495 were found in hospitals and medical services, 617 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 534 were from prisons, and the remaining 16 were imported cases.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,098, followed by Samut Pakran with 269, Pathum Thani with 80, Nonthaburi with 77, Samut Sakhon with 75, and Chonburi with 69.
A total number of 416,847 people have received Covid-19 vaccines on the first day of the mass inoculation program in 986 vaccination centers nationwide yesterday, June 7th. More details of the reports can be found in our previous article below:
As of today, 2,483 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 182,548 cases with 131,999 recoveries and a total of 1,297 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 388,872 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 27,975 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 4,634,941 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
