Thailand’s Private Hospital Association to announce purchase price for Moderna vaccine tomorrow

National –

Thailand’s Private Hospital Association (PHA) is preparing to officially announce the price of the Moderna vaccination tomorrow, June 7th, as an alternative vaccine for residences in Thailand to be purchased at private hospitals.

TPN notes that the statement is that of PHA and is not a guarantee from TPN that they will announce the price.

PHA secretary-general Paiboon Eksaengsri said the association had been in talks with Zuellig Pharma, distributor of Moderna vaccines in Asia, and there will be a meeting with members of the Private Hospital Association to inform and set a price on Monday.

The recent reports from the Association stated that the cost of vaccines is estimated to be about 1,200 baht per dose, excluding service and insurance fees. It is expected that the price for the complete vaccination process will not exceed 4,000 baht, external fees included.

“The PHA will try to reduce the price to be as affordable as we could. Initially, the association ordered about 10 million doses of Moderna vaccines through the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO). The first lot may be distributed by October or sooner,” the secretary-general stated.

TPN media notes there is no guarantee or set in stone date on when vaccines will arrive from Moderna.
