Rotary Club of Pattaya postpones charity concert until further notice due to Covid-19

Pattaya, Thailand-

The Rotary Club of Pattaya, Pattaya’s oldest club founded in 1972, has decided to postpone their scheduled upcoming charity concert on Saturday, June 12th, until further notice due to ongoing Covid-19 precautions in the area.

The concert had already been postponed once as seen here.

The concert is part of an ongoing charity project which included presenting a socially distanced friendly art exhibition/competition on the sixth floor of Central Festival in April featuring art from talented students from eleven local schools displaying the individual artist’s renditions of peace.

You can read more about the art exhibition and see pictures here.

It is important to note this is only a postponement, not a cancelation, and all previous ticket holders will be able to utilize their tickets when the event moves forward.

The ticketed peace concert, when it moves forward, will be at the Father Ray Foundation on Sukhumvit Road where awards for the winning art selections will be presented and money will be raised for charity. There will be prizes for best-dressed hippies, a raffle, and an auction along with great music that promotes peace! The current hope from the Rotary Club of Pattaya is that the concert will take place sometime in July, but that depends heavily on current Covid-19 restrictions and the situation in Chonburi and Thailand.

Appearing at the concert will be a ‘Bob Dylan/Peace & Love’ style tribute plus a special performance of the BEATLEMANIA band.

Tickets are only 950 baht per person including a set Chinese banquet menu, whisky*, and soft drinks as well as the option for a paid bar (*alcohol restrictions permitting). Tickets will be eligible for when the event takes place, one can Contact: 08-9911-1199 for reservations.

A promo for the concert, filmed before the current postponement but still with valid information can be found below.

Also at this weeks meeting, the Rotary Club of Pattaya welcomed a brand new member, Massimo “Marco” Peroncelli from Italy! (seen in the photo below)

As for other details at the meeting, which was held with permission and under Covid-19 measures, all members were asked to come up with suggestions at the next meeting on Monday the 14th of June, to new charity projects as the new board of directors and the president will take office from the first of July.

It was also suggested that the Club make a small leaflet with information about many of the community and charity projects the Rotary Club of Pattaya has organized over the years since its founding in 1972, as many people in Pattaya don’t know enough about the club.
