Thailand reported a total of 3,886 daily Covid-19 infections with 39 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweeilp Visanuyothin announced this morning, June 3rd.
The fatalities were 20 men and 19 women from Bangkok (24), Nonthaburi (2), Phuket (2), Chonburi (1), Chiyaphum (1), Chiang Rai (1), Tak (1), Nakhon Sri Thammarat (1), Bueng Kan (1), Pattani (1), Samut Sakhon (1), Sa Kaeo (1), Suphanburi (1), and Ang Thong (1). The age range was between 36 and 89 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, chronic kidney disease, lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, liver disease, past stroke, and cancer. Three of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 995 (driven by two new clusters), followed by Phetchaburi with 380, Nonthaburi 366 (at a new construction worker camp), Samut Prakan with 232, Trang with 92 (at a gloves factory), and Samut Sakhon with 76. Chonburi reported 46 domestic infections.
Two new clusters among a total of 50 active clusters in Bangkok were reported at two construction worker camps in Bangsue and Ratchathewi districts.
As of today, 3,626 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 169,348 cases with 118,204 recoveries and a total of 1,152 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 146,917 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 58,721 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 3,959,356 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
Correction: A previous version of this stated the number of cases announced today was 3386. It was actually 3886 and has been corrected.
